This cheek-swab HLA-DR/DQ genetic test identifies susceptibility to Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS) and is ideal for individuals who live outside the U.S. or far from LabCorp and Quest facilities. It tests for the genetic haplotypes associated with mold sensitivity and biotoxin-related illness. Includes a full EFH-written analysis with personalized recommendations and next steps.
If you’d like the comprehensive CIRS panel with all CIRS markers, you can find it here. If you would like the CIRS white-glove comprehensive care, you can find it here.Â

The HLA-DR/DQ Genetic Test screens for specific gene patterns (haplotypes) that may increase your susceptibility to mold-related illness and Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS). This is a non-blood cheek swab test and is particularly useful for individuals who live outside of the U.S. or cannot access LabCorp or Quest facilities.
This test only provides your genetic predisposition and does not diagnose CIRS or assess inflammatory markers. It’s a helpful starting point if you suspect mold exposure.
Why it matters
Approximately 25% of the population carries haplotypes that make them more vulnerable to mold, Lyme, and other environmental biotoxins. Identifying your HLA-DR/DQ pattern can help determine if your immune system may be “genetically blind” to certain toxins, leading to chronic inflammation and illness, even after the exposure ends.
Understanding your genetic profile can help guide further testing, validate your experience, and provide clarity around why you may not be healing on diet alone. It’s also a useful tool for providers building out a CIRS or mold recovery plan.
