The CIRS Cholesterol Test is a targeted blood panel designed to monitor cholesterol and related metabolic markers during your CIRS healing journey. It’s especially recommended for individuals currently using prescription binders like cholestyramine or Welchol as part of the Shoemaker Protocol.
This test includes a Complete Blood Count (CBC), Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP-14), and a Lipid Profile with Non-HDL Cholesterol, and can be completed at any LabCorp location.
Why it matters
Binders used in CIRS treatment can impact liver function and cholesterol levels, especially during the early inflammatory phases. Regular monitoring helps ensure you’re tolerating medications properly, allows for necessary protocol adjustments, and tracks progress toward readiness for VIP. This panel is essential for maintaining safety and tracking therapeutic response.
We recommend testing every 2 months while on binders or as advised by your practitioner.
